The informational content of patterns can still recognized even if they are obscured by noise. Here patterns are recognized with a 90% probability even if they are obscured by intermediate noise level. At this level not even the best scientist would try to recognize the spectra. At the highest level of noise shown on the left still 60% of the patterns are being recognized by the artificial neural networks. This work has been published in the journal Nature Structural Biology.
